What gives a person a sense of satisfaction? I’ve seen myself and others looking outside of themselves for satisfaction. According to Eckhart Tolle in his book A New Earth, “only the truth of who you are can set you free.” Does freedom equal satisfaction? In my mind, they are pretty close. How do you know who you are? Is there something you are meant to be and do? There are lots of methods for finding your way. Listening to your superconscious (the highest power you believe in) is the best way I’ve found. If you are open to listening to answers, you will hear or feel or sense them. The answers you “hear” won’t always be what you want, but if you follow your superconscious, you are sure to find greater joy then if you consciously push your way through life making choices without guidance. Listening to your superconscious will get you to the right place. Like animal migration found in all major animal groups, including birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and crustaceans.  These animals go where they are meant to go for a better life, more food, better mating and birthing conditions and survival of their species.  Also for their enjoyment I’d add.

One symptom I see repeatedly in myself and in clients in my office for refusing to “migrate,” not following the course you should be on, are health and wellbeing issues including physical pain. The physical body is the “loudest” and most noticeable portion of our system for most people. When we are hungry, tired, thirsty etc. we act. When was the last time you felt something in your spirit and jumped to quench that spiritual thirst? Because it’s typically more of a whisper, we tend to push it to the bottom of the to-do list or maybe never listen at all. The body, mind and spirit are one. When one portion of ourselves is off, it throws the rest of the system off. Then we feel bad, mad, sad, depressed, sick, tired, fatigued, pain and can’t figure out why. We head to the doctor to treat our symptom instead of the root of the problem. The real problem is we didn’t “fly south for the winter.” We are living the wrong season in the wrong climate and are suffering. I believe the “pain” we feel is just our system trying to get our attention. Trying to get us back on track. Yes, a pill from the doctor might numb the pain for a season but getting your whole self on track is a much better way for ultimate health and wellbeing, satisfaction and freedom.

I’ve lived a life of chronic pain. Not listening to myself or my superconscious, which I believe to be God, for answers.  I was always looking outside of myself for answers.  The minute I caught onto what I was doing, I stopped and so did my life of chronic pain. What an amazing blessing. The next time you think the answers to life’s greatest mysteries are outside of you, think again. Remember who you are. Ask your highest power to help you. Why? Because you will be happy, healthy, whole, satisfied and free.
